CBC traveled to York College (Ne) after weather delayed the original series from Friday/Saturday to Sunday/Monday. York College prevailed in all four contests despite strong efforts by CBC.
On Sunday, the Panthers won games, 10-0, 6-3. In the first contest, Brad Lindsley got the win for York College. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball. Lindsley struck out six, walked one and gave up three hits. Seth McLemore and Santez Richardson went 1 for 2 for CBC in the loss.
In the second game Josh Buczek went 4 for 4 at the plate to lead the Mustangs but could not stop Garrett Anctil (3 RBIs) and Jose Bueno (2 RBIs). Ryan Smith took the loss allowing six runs, walking two and striking out five in six innings of work.
On Monday, York College took both games, 4-3, 13-6. In game one, the Mustangs tied it up 3-3 in the ninth but could not hold on as York College scored to squeeze out a win. Josh Buczek had two extra-base hits for the Mustangs. He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the ninth inning. Stephen Swagerty worked out of eight tricky spots for the CBC Mustangs. He pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits.
In the final game, Brent Bunker had a two hit game that scored four runs but it was not enough as York College struck early against Mustang pitching scoring all thirteen runs in the first inning. Ryan Johnson and Josh Buczek went 2 - 4 and Aaron Boucher went 2-3 as the Mustangs totaled eleven hits in the loss.
The final home stand and conference series will be April 24 & 25 against the College of the Ozarks.
