CBC played its final conference series Saturday and Sunday against the College of the Ozarks Bobcats at Victory Field in Conway. The Bobcats won the series 3-1.
On Saturday, in the first game, Cof O won a tight contest 8-6 in spite of Josh Buczek's big effort. Josh got on base four times in the game for the CBC Mustangs. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the sixth inning. Josh Neufeld got the win for College of the Ozarks despite allowing five runs over 7 1/3 innings. He struck out seven, walked five and surrendered seven hits.
In the second game, the Bobcats had a big second inning to jumpstart a 13-4 win. College of the Ozarks brought home three runs in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the second, College of the Ozarks scored on a three-run home run by Cody Hull.
Aaron Boucher went 2-3 for the Mustangs, with RBIs in the first and second innings.
Sunday's first contest was won by the Bobcats 6-2 as the Mustangs outhit them twelve to nine. Ryan Johnson drove in a run and scored a run, he homered in the second inning for CBC. Alex Stephens recorded the win for College of the Ozarks. He allowed two runs over nine innings. Stephens struck out six, walked none and gave up 12 hits.
Neither team scored until the fourth when the Mustangs got on the board. CBC scored on a sacrifice fly by Seth McLemore. Kincaid held the Bobcats back until Richardson's game winning single.
The Mustangs (24-21) will play next on Thursday in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Tournament in Oklahoma.
