Conway, Ark.- The Central Baptist College Mustangs won the weekend series against Harris-Stowe State University 3-0 to move to a new school record, 32-11. The 32 wins is both the highest regular season and complete season win total.
The Mustangs defeated the Hornets on Friday, 11-1. In the Saturday doubleheader, CBC won the first game, 9-0 and in the second game, 10-0.
On Friday, nine runs in the first three innings allowed the Mustangs to put the game away early.
A two-run single by Ryan Johnson and a wild pitch in the first inning and a solo home run by Seth McLemore during the second inning helped CBC put some runs on the board early. McLemore racked up three RBIs on two hits. Jalin Lawson was 2-2 with one RBI and Santez Richardson was 2-3 and scored one run.
Brian Moreno got the win for the Mustangs thanks to 11 strikeouts. Moreno allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk over 6 2/3 innings.
On Saturday in the first game, CBC won 9-0 as Mustang Pitcher Kale Fultz pitched a shutout allowing no runs on three hits and striking out six.
The final contest was shortened from a nine inning contest as the Mustangs won in seven innings, 10-0. Five runs in the first three innings allowed the Mustangs to put the game away early. A two-run home run by Jalin Lawson during the first inning supplied the early offense. Austin Kuchinski racked up four RBIs on one hit. He homered in the third inning. Seth McLemore went 2-3 with one RBI and scored twice.
Aaron Kincaid pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out two.
