Montgomery, Al.- The Central Baptist Mustangs (45-14) continue to surprise everyone, except themselves as they advance in the Montgomery Bracket of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. The Mustangs behind their ace, Brian Moreno and their high powered offense came out strong and never let up in a 10-2 victory over Keiser University.
CBC opened the scoring in the first inning after Seth McLemore singled to shallow center, Jalin Lawson doubled to move McLemore to third. McLemore then scored on a sacrifice fly to right to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead that they would never relinquish.
Jalin Lawson, the NAIA home run leader for most of the season hit #23 to score two in a four run third inning. Nash Nichols and Joshua Buczek both scored on a single by Ryan Johnson to make it 4-0 before Keiser added one in the bottom half of the inning.
Moreno recorded the win allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five.
