Montgomery, AL. – The Auburn University- Montgomery Warhawks, seeded #1 in the Montgomery Bracket, used 24 hits in route to a 20-5 victory over the Central Baptist College Mustangs this afternoon in NAIA Championship play. The Mustangs will face the winner of the Indiana Wesleyan vs Keiser game, being played Wednesday evening, in a matchup at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 19th.
AUM jumped out early scoring three runs on three hits and an error in the top of the first inning. They added one run in the third on hits by Brandon Davis and Blake Grill to lead 4-0.
CBC answered as Monterio May got a base hit over second base, Seth McLemore singled as did Jalin Lawson. May scored on the Lawson hit, McLemore moved around on a hit by Nash Nichols. Josh Buczek got a hit that scored McLemore and Lawson to make it 4-3.
That was as close as the Mustangs would come as six players for AUM accounted for 18 hits, included two 3-run home runs in the game. CBC used five pitchers on the day but the Warhawk bats could not be stopped. Aaron Kincaid was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
