ST. LOUIS – The American Midwest Conference has announced its men's and women's Golfer of the Week awards for the week ending October 9, 2016. For the first time this season, Central Baptist College is represented in the AMC weekly awards, as Austin Harmon was named the AMC Men's Golfer of the Week. Megan Cullen of William Woods University took the Women's Golfer of the Week award as well.
Harmon, a senior from Bryant, Ark., earned medalist honors at the Henderson State University Invitational – an event comprised of mostly of NCAA Division II competitors. He shot a 54-hole total of 211 (69-72-70) on the 6,690 yard course, and the Mustangs finished ninth in the event. The medalist finish was his second of the fall – he had previously won the NCCAA Central Regional medalist honor – and he will compete at the NCCAA National Championship later this month.
Cullen, a junior from Morecambe, England, led the NAIA #7 Owls to a victory in the Fulton Medical Center Invitational, finishing as the event's medalist herself. She shot a four-over par 148 (71-77), and she shot the only round under par in the event, an opening round 71.

Billy McKenzie – William Woods
Earned the medalist honor at the Fulton Medical Center Invitational, helping the Owls to a first place team finish as well. McKenzie shot a 36-hole total of 142 (73-69), finishing as the only player in red figures with a -2 final total.
The American Midwest Conference is a 13-school NAIA Division I conference with schools in Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee. It was chartered in 1986 as the Show-Me Collegiate Conference becoming the American Midwest Conference in 1994. The Conference sponsors 16 championships, eight each for men and women - baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's outdoor track & field, women's volleyball and men's wrestling.
