CONWAY, ARK. – The CBC Mustangs looked to upend the #6 NAIA ranked Columbia Cougars in American Midwest Conference action but Columbia get their undefeated streak alive with an 87-75 victory Thursday night at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse.
Columbia (CC) would shoot 80% in the first half but the Mustangs were only down by five before two quick baskets right before the half would make it a ten-point margin, 49-39. A steal and a basket by Marcelious Green (JR/Houston, TX) with five minutes left in the half would give CBC life.
In the second half CC's Nic Reynolds made a two after a CBC turnover to give the Cougars a 12 point lead (72-60) that they would not relinquish. Reynolds would finish with 23 and lead all scorers on the night. Columbia would shoot 61.5% from the field compared to the Mustangs at 49%.
