AMARILLO, Tex.- The CBC Wrestling team competed in the Wayland Baptist Invitational today. The Mustangs had four competing in the tournament with Zach Kearney (SO/Branson, MO) placing second in the 197 lb division.
Here's how it happened:
149 LB – Devon Senior (SO/Jonesboro, GA) fell in the consolation round to George Haskins from Richland College by decision. Senior won his first match by decision over Patrick Williams of Bacone College. In the quarterfinal, Senior won by fall over Al Ordonez of Lyon College. In the semi Bradley Lehmann of Midland won by fall to send Senior to the consolation round.
157 LB – Chadrick Crain (FR/Little Rock, AR) dropped the consolidation round to Clay DeWaal of Bethany College by fall. Crain fell in the opening round to John Paul Robledo of Richland College.
197 LB – Zach Kearney placed second after being defeated in the championship match by Riley Williams of Wayland Baptist by fall. Kearney defeated Adam Ball from Midland in the quarterfinal and Jovanni Virgen of Bacon College in the semifinal to make the first place match.
285 LB – Francisco Joseph (JR/West Palm Beach, FL) lost in a tie breaker in the consolidation round to Bacon College's Marcus Zeighler. Joseph advanced to the quarterfinal via a bye. Aaron Rafalko from Midland College won by fall over Joseph to send him to the consolidation round.
NEXT UP: December 10 – The Wrestlers will travel to Williams Baptist for a tri-dual.
