Conway, Ark. - The CBC Mustangs stepped out of conference play to take on Baptist Bible College at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. The Mustangs had little trouble in dismantling the Patriots 94-49.
Eighteen different Mustangs played as CBC shot 54% from the field and 48% from the three-point line. Teshawn Sims (SR/Conway, AR) led CBC with ten points in a game where sixteen scored.
Four Mustangs had eight points each; Jayln McBride (SR/Jonesboro, AR), Nick Jones (FR/Little Rock, AR), Marcelious Green (JR/Houston, TX), and Jordan Ford (FR/Dallas, Texas). Mike Ayers (JR/Memphis,TN) would add seven.
Central Baptist would never trail as they opened a 13-0 lead before the Patriots would score on a Seth Thompson three. Thompson would lead all scorers on the night with 21. All his points would come from behind the 3-pt arc. CBC would take a 51-18 lead into the half.
Nick Jones would score after a steal in the second half to start the scoring for the Mustangs. CBC would lead by 35 at 53-18. Luke Puetz (BBC) would cut the CBC lead to 31 with 8:45 to play but that would be the closest the Patriots would come.
NEXT UP: The Mustangs will travel to Columbia (Jan 19) and William Woods (Jan 21) for American Midwest Conference matchups.
