Conway Ark. – The Lady Mustangs of Central Baptist College saw the Park University Pirates take a ten point first quarter lead and turn it into a 77-62 victory over CBC at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse on Thursday night. Central Baptist played the Pirates fairly even after that point but could not take the win.
Aaliyah Block (SR/Monticello, AR) had another strong game for CBC as she scored 11 points and posted 15 rebounds for the night. Block lead the team in rebounds with 96 thus far in the season. Audrey Moran (JR/Viliona, AR) got back in double digits with 14 points. Morgan Fimpel (JR/Maumelle, AR) scored nine and had six rebounds. Emily Ridgell (FR/Bryant, AR) added eight points.
After the first quarter lead, Park built a 16-point lead in the second quarter until free throws at the end of the half by CBC's Emily Gardner (FR/Melbourne, AR) made it 37-26 Pirates. The second half would be a back and forth fight with Central Baptist unable to gain the ground needed.
The loss drops CBC to 3-11 in conference play and 4-15 overall.
NEXT UP: The Lady Mustangs will be at home to face Stephens College at 1:00 pm on January 28th.
Homecoming is February 4th and the court will be presented between the women and men's games. The women tip off at 1:00 pm.
