Conway Ark. – The Central Baptist College Mustangs hosted the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in American Midwest Conference action at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
The Lady Mustangs pounded the STLCOP 91-61 while the Mustangs dominated in a 101-61 win.
CBC's Audrey Moran (JR/Viliona, AR) started it off with two quick baskets to make it 5-0 Lady Mustangs. Moran would finish with 17 points on the night. Emily Gardner (FR/Melbourne, AR) would take control later and score 19 of her game leading 25 before the half. CBC would lead 58-31 at the break.
The Lady Mustangs would make it a 37-point lead on a shot by Morgan Fimpel (JR/Maumelle, AR) with 3:32 left in the game, their highest lead of the night.
Central Baptist shot over 50% from the field and 40% from 3-pt land. Along with Gardner and Moran, Morgan Fimpel and Emily White (FR/Pocahontas, AR) would add 13 points apiece and Aaliyah Block (SR/Monticello, AR) had 12.
In Men's action, the Mustangs would make it look easy as they faced an undermanned Eutectic squad. Central Baptist lead 64-23 at the half and played their entire bench. STCOP never gave up and played hard until the last seconds of the contest.
CBC would be led off the bench by Marcel Swinton (SO/Morrilton, AR) with 21 points. Swinton would lead all scorers on the night. Andy Ettiene (JR/Jersery City, NJ) had 14 while Jayln McBride (SR/Jonesboro, AR) and Austen Burton (JR/El Dorado, AR) would add 12 apiece.
NEXT UP: Homecoming is Saturday, February 4th and the court will be presented between the women and men's games. The women tip off at 1:00 pm with the men to follow soon after the completion of activities.
