Henderson, Tenn. – The Central Baptist College Mustangs moved into a tie for third place in the American Midwest Conference with another convincing win over ranked Freed-Hardeman University, 78-64. The Lions are ranked No 22 in the country and were also ranked at No 24 when CBC defeated them at home on December 31, 2016.
The Lions would take an early first half lead at 10-6 before a 3-pt basket by Mon'Darrius Benson (JR/ Birmingham, AL) would cut it to one. Mike Evans (SR/North Little Rock, AR) would then have a steal and a basket by Jayln McBride (SR/Jonesboro, AR) would give the Mustangs the lead at 11-10. The Mustangs would never again trail in the ballgame.
Central Baptist (16-7, 11-6 AMC) would take a ten-point lead into the half, 36-26 with McBride leading the charge scoring nine of his 26 points. He would lead all scorers on the evening. CBC shot a scorching 71.4% from the 3-pt arc, a season high.
