Walnut Ridge, Ark. – CBC traveled to Williams Baptist for an important American Midwest Conference matchup. The Eagles prevailed 79-71 over the Mustangs. The loss drops CBC into fourth place in the AMC.
As would be expected when these two teams play, it was back and forth. There were five ties in the first half with seven points the largest lead by either. The game saw five technical fouls on the evening, three by CBC and two by WBC.
The Mustangs would bring the game within reach at 67-70 on a shot by Andy Ettiene (JR/Jersery City, NJ) with 2:38 left but back to back three-pointers by the Eagles would force fouls by the Mustangs and the Eagles converted for the final margin.
TeShawn Sims would lead CBC with 13 points and three steals. Stephen Ramsey (JR/Chicago,Illinois) had 11 points and seven rebounds. Jalyn McBride added nine as did Nick Jones (FR/Little Rock, AR). Ettiene and Rob Sanders (JR/Houston, TX) finished with eight a piece.
NEXT UP: The Mustangs travel to Hannibal-LaGrange on February 18th with the game starting at 3:00 P.M.
