Belleville, IL – In a contest that was originally postponed due to inclement weather, CBC travelled to Lindenwood-Belleville for American Midwest Conference action on Thursday night. The (RV) Mustangs recaptured third place with the 85-67 win.
The Mustangs raced out to an 8-2 lead before a LBU three-pointer by Braden Fitzjerrells would draw the Lynx within three. Lindenwood-Bellville would tie the game at 12 with 12 minutes to play in the first half and that would be as close as they would come the rest of the evening.
Central Baptist would lead by nine at the half, 38-29.
The second half would see the Mustangs lead grow to as much as 20 points on a basket by Bryce Evans (SR/Prescott, AR) with one minute to play. CBC would play sixteen players on the night.
Mike Evans (SR/North Little Rock, AR) had a big night for the Mustangs scoring 19 and hauling in 12 rebounds to lead the team. Marcelious Green (JR/Houston, TX) had 14 points and eight rebounds. Jalyn McBride, leading the team with over 14 points per game, would add 12 tonight. Andy Ettiene (JR/Jersery City, NJ) had a double-double also with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
NEXT UP: The Mustangs travel to Hannibal-LaGrange on February 18th with the game starting at 3:00 P.M.
