McPherson, KS. - The CBC Mustangs moved forward in their quest to earn a berth in the NCCAA D1 National Basketball Championship by defeating the Central Christian College Tigers 75-57 in Central Region Quarterfinal action on Thursday night.
The first half saw an even game between the squads. There were six ties in the first 20 minutes. Four baskets in the last two minutes gave CBC a five point lead into intermission, 37-32. DJ Reed (SR/England, AR) and Mike Evans (SR/North Little Rock, AR) each led the Mustangs attack with seven points each.
Reed would finish with 17 points and lead all scorers in the game while Evans would add 15 and eight rebounds.
The second half was all CBC as they forged a double digit lead that they would not lose on a basket by LaDarius Reed (SR/ Shreveport, LA) (SR/Â Shreveport, LA) with 13:35 to play. Central Baptist would create a 20 point difference on a three-point basket by Justin Harris (SR/Jonesboro, AR) with under two minutes to play.
Andy Ettiene (JR/Jersery City, NJ) led CBC with 12 rebounds and added ten points on the night. TeShawn Sims had seven points with nine other Mustangs adding to the scoring.
With the win the Mustangs will take on 2nd seeded Dallas Baptist University at 6:00 pm on Friday night. Dallas Baptist defeated Grace University 100-85 to reach the Semi-final.
