Winona Lake, In. - While many people were having their morning coffee, the CBC Mustangs were on the court for a consolation game in the NCCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship. The team faced No.8 seed Hiwassee College in a morning contest that Central Baptist won 83-75.
Nick Jones (FR/Little Rock, AR) led all scorers with 20 points in the win. Teshawn Sims (SR/Conway, AR) had 13 points and a steal while Mike Evans (SR/North Little Rock, AR) added ten points with four rebounds. Central Baptist led at the half 37-34 after the Tigers took back the lead with 2:25 left at 34-32. Teshawn Sims' free throws would tie it up and back to back scores by the Mustangs would give them the lead for good.
The second half was all Mustangs as they would lead by as many as 12 points as 15 players would see action in the game.
"We were certainly disappointed that we did not advance last night, but that is over and we are playing for pride", said Head Coach Wes Sullivan.
