McKenzie, Tenn. – The CBC Lady Mustangs traveled to Bethel University for a Tuesday non-conference doubleheader. The Wildcats came from behind in both to win 6-3, 2-1.
The Lady Mustangs opened the first game with two runs in the first on hits by Hunter Clark (JR/Sheridan, AR) and Gabrielle Muller. Bethel and CBC traded runs in the second and third innings as CBC led 3-1. The Wildcats charged back in the last two innings to capture the win.
Game one (3-6) by the Numbers:
- Rachel Jones went 2-2
- Hunter Clark went 2-4, 1R
- Gabrielle Mueller (JR/Taylor Ridge, IL) went 2-4, 2R
- Rachel Lawson (FR/Kokomo, IN) went the distance allowing six runs on eight hits in six innings
It was a pitcher's duel in the second game as neither squad could score until the eighth inning. CBC's Madison Skelton (JR/Praire Grove, AR) allowed nine hits while Bethel's Casey Wade allowed two. The Mustangs' Caley Perry (SR/Searcy, AR) hit a sacrifice fly that scored Raquel Westerman (SR/Galveston, TX) in the top of the eighth to take the lead and the scoring drought. A passed ball and a hit by Caylee Crews that scored Mady Gantt and Dallas Weatherly gave The Wildcats the win.
Game two (1-2) by the Numbers:
UP NEXT: The Lady Mustangs travel to St Louis College of Pharmacy for an AMC series March 31 and to Lindenwood-Belleville April 1. The Friday games are slated to begin at 2:00 pm, while the doubleheader on Saturday will begin at noon.
