Batesville, Ark. – Central Baptist traveled to Scots Field in an important American Midwest Conference matchup with Lyon College on Tuesday afternoon. In a tight contest, Lyon downed the Mustangs with a run in the eighth inning to win 2-1.
Lyon College came out first on a Kyle West double and an error by CBC when West scored after a Tucker Harris hit a fly ball that was dropped in the Mustangs' outfield.
Three hits and an error scored Dalton Earnest to give the Scots the lead 2-1 that they would not give up. Cole Ragsdale got the win going all nine innings and allowing one run on nine hits, one walk as he struck out one.
Ben Madison (SO/Benton, AR) picked up the loss giving up two runs on seven hits with four walks and striking out 18. Madison has had five games this season in which he had ten or more strikeouts.
