Walnut Ridge, Ark. – On Senior Day at Williams Baptist College, the Central Baptist Mustangs completed the series sweep with a ten inning come from behind victory on Friday, 11-7.
As sometimes happens in the third game of a hard-fought conference series, 11 different pitchers were used to complete the extra inning contest. Caulin Cragle (SR/Houston, TX) opened for the Mustangs pitching four innings giving up just two runs on two hits while striking out six. Aaron Kincaid (SR/Prairie Grove, AR) picked up the win for CBC. The Eagles' Jacob Jumper worked six innings and threw a three-hitter, giving up no runs in his time.
Williams got on the board in the first as Morgan Hawley scored on an errant pitch after being moved around by a Nick Scott single to right. Williams would add one more in the fourth before scoring four in the sixth to lead 6-0 and set up yet another late game comeback for CBC.
CBC would score five in the eighth on a Deonta Howard (SR/Pine Bluff, AR) hit, a Jalin Lawson (SR/Troy, AL) double and two errors by Williams Baptist to make it 6-5 WBC. In the ninth CBC would tie it up as Lawson walked and Monterio May (SR/Helican, AL) doubled to send Lawson to third base. A wild pitch by WBC's Anthony Noftsger would score Lawson.
The Mustangs would again explode for five runs in the tenth. Six hits including a two-run homer to left by Josh Hibbard (SR/Munford, TN) and doubles by Lawson and May would be the difference.
