St. Louis – The AMC All-Conference Awards were announced at the AMC Championships on Wednesday night with the Central Baptist College Mustangs having five honored by the Conference. The announcement came on the evening that the Mustangs are playing their opening round game as they look to defend their Championship title from last season.
Ben Madison (SO/Benton, AR) was named to the All-AMC First Team as a Pitcher and also named Newcomer Pitcher of the Year. Madison led the NAIA in strikeouts in the regular season, and he made history in his third start of the season. Madison fired a no-hitter at home against the Martin Methodist College Red Hawks on February 18, striking out 16 in the 7-inning contest. He finished the season 5-3 with a 3.67 ERA, and he did not allow his opponents to reach 10 hits in any single game during the season.
Austin Kuchinski (SO/Powder Springs, GA) was named to the All-AMC First Team as a Catcher. Kuchinski ended the regular season with a .310 batting average and 33 RBIs. Injured for a portion of the season, he played in 38 of 50 games.
Jalin Lawson (SR/Troy, AL) was named to the All- AMC First Team as a Second Baseman. Lawson, the defending AMC Player of the Year, hit .414 on the season with 49 RBIs and ten home runs. He had a .950 fielding % and was involved in 11 double plays.
Monterio May (SR/Helican, AL) was named to the All-AMC Second Team as an Outfielder. May hit .330 this season with 33 RBIs. May was perfect in the field at 100%.
Cole Johnson (SR/Fordyce, AR) was named to the All-AMC Second Team as a Utility Pitcher. Johnson played in 18 games during the regular season with a 3-0 record and led the team with a 1.31 ERA in 34.1 innings.
