Conway, Ark. (May 26, 2017) – Central Baptist College baseball coach Dr. Aaron Brister announced five new signees to his baseball program yesterday. The Mustangs are coming off their second straight 30-win season and have to replace 13 players that graduated from this past season's team.
Freshman Brandon Smith of East Poinsett County was the first player to sign. Smith was a second baseman and outfielder at EPC. Another Smith joined the program as well. Michael Smith, Jr., of Stuttgart signed with the Mustangs yesterday after an outstanding season in centerfield for the Ricebirds.
The other freshman were Peyton Kendrick, a middle infielder and pitcher from Mountain View and Zack Harris, a pitcher and outfielder from Conway Christian that is Kendrick's cousin.
The lone transfer of the group was Kollin Stone, who is from Jonesboro, but joins the Mustangs from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo.
"We are excited to have these guys with us," Brister said. "It took a lot of hard work from Coach Lee and myself to get them here, and now that they are here we can't wait to get them in our program and ready for next season."
We at CBC welcome these five outstanding young men to the program.
