Oklahoma City, Okla. (Sept. 12, 2017) – Entering the final round of the U.C. Ferguson Invitational in seventh place, the Central Baptist College men's golf team sought improvement. They found that improvement on day two, improving their by nine strokes to shoot a final round 288 to finish the tournament with a three round total of 884 (+32), good for sixth place.
Individually, Colton Ryan (FR/Benton, La.) and Dylan Smith (FR/Melbourne, Ark.) led the Mustangs, posting scores of 219 for the three round total, which was +6 and good for a tie for 13th. Leyton Clark (SO/Armorel, Ark.) shot a one-under-par 70 in the final round, which put him with a score of 223 (+10) for the tournament, which was a 29th place finish. Matt Brown (FR/North Little Rock, Ark.) would finish tied for 33rd after posting a score of 227 (+14) and Taylor Morton (SO/Lafayette, La.) finished tied for 37th with a score of +16 or 229. Roberts Biss (JR/Riga, Latvia), who was competing as an individual, finished 52nd with a score of 252 (+39).
The Mustangs return to Oklahoma City and the Lake Hefner Golf Club next Monday and Tuesday for the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament.
