Conway, Ark. (Sept. 14, 2017) – Central Baptist College volleyball entered tonight's American Midwest Conference opener against No. 11 Mo. Baptist with a lot of confidence after defeating Crowley's Ridge in a sweep on Tuesday night. The Spartans (14-2, 1-0 AMC) showed why they are No. 11 in the NAIA, sweeping the Mustangs (7-5, 0-1 AMC) 3-0 (25-10, 25-8, 25-20).
Sarah Clemmons (FR/Bryant, Ark.), Kelsy Knox (SO/Barling, Ark.) and Emily Harp (FR/Harrison, Ark.) led CBC with five kills each, while Hope Johnson (SO/Rogers, Ark.) had 14 assists and Lenee Gibson (SR/Webb City, Mo.) had 12 digs. Caterina Cigarini led the way for MBU with eight kills while Rachel Poole and Natalie Hecht both had double digits in assists, posting 18 and 14, respectively. Rachel Luebbers had 10 digs to lead the Spartans. MBU also outhit CBC .432 to .040 and had 45 kills to just 19 for the Mustangs.
