#MustangsWin! #20 CBC Plays Great Defense To Beat Crowley's Ridge!

            Paragould, Ark. – Beginning a stretch where they alternate home and road games for the final four games of the season, #20 Central Baptist College men's basketball took on the Crowley's Ridge College Pioneers tonight in an American Midwest Conference tilt inside the Carter Activities Center. CBC (21-4, 14-1 AMC) led from the start, racing out to a 17-4 lead before cruising to an 80-68 win over CRC (15-10, 9-6 AMC).

            Sage Borbon led the way in scoring with 23 points on 11-of-18 from the field. Gabe Johnson grabbed a season-high eight rebounds while Borbon led the way with five assists as well. CBC's defense made the difference, holding CRC to 38 percent shooting from the floor and 20 percent from three.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • The win gives CBC 350 victories since 2003-04
  • Coach Sam Kohnke earned his 85th victory, extending his record
  • With his performance tonight, Sage Borbon is now just 56 points shy of becoming the seventh player in program history with 1,000 in a Mustang uniform
  • Borbon had his third 10-plus made field goal game this season and the fifth of his career
  • CBC improves to 20-2 all-time against CRC and have won the last 10 straight
  • The Mustangs are now 19-2 this season when leading at the half

            CBC returns home on Thursday night for another AMC tilt against the Williams Baptist Eagles. Tipoff for Senior Night will be at 7:30 and the festivities for the seniors will precede the contest.
