Jackson, Miss. – Returning to the same city their previous victory this season came in, Central Baptist College men's soccer took on the Bulldogs of Tougaloo College tonight at the Mississippi School for the Deaf. CBC (2-3) scored two goals in the first half and two in the second half to beat TC (1-2) 4-0.
Joe McElhinney, Billy Murray, Hayes Lawrence and Tim Echaniz all scored for the Mustangs. McElhinney's goal came in the 16th minute and gave CBC the lead while Murray scored in the 43rd minute to put CBC up 2-0 at the break. Lawrence's goal came in the 59th minute to further extend the lead and Echaniz's goal came in the 86th minute to put the icing on the cake. Jasper Gadellaa was only challenged twice, making both stops.
MUSTANG NOTES
- McElhinney's goal was his first of the season and sixth of his career
- Murray's goal was the second of his season
- Lawrence and Echaniz both scored their first career goals
- CBC is now 2-0 in the state of Mississippi this season and have outscored opponents 6-0
- The Mustangs are now 90-7-2 all-time when they score at least three goals in a match
- Gadellaa earned his 14th career win which puts him into second place on the all-time list
- The shutout was the sixth of Gadellaa's career
