First Half Goal Not Enough For Mustangs Against the Stars

First Half Goal Not Enough For Mustangs Against the Stars

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Oklahoma City – Playing outside of Arkansas or Mississippi for the first time this season, Central Baptist College men's soccer was on the pitch at Brian Harvey Field tonight for a matchup with the Oklahoma City University Stars. CBC (2-4) got a goal in the first half to lead 1-0 at halftime, but allowed a pair of goals within eight minutes in the second half to fall 2-1 to OKCU (5-0-1).

Billy Murray netted his third goal for the Mustangs to give them the lead in the 31st minute, a lead they carried into the intermission. Oklahoma City would tie the match in the 62nd minute and go ahead in the 69th. The Mustangs would only get one chance after that, and it went wide to spoil an outstanding Jasper Gadellaa performance in net, as he turned away seven Star strikes.

The Mustangs head to Clarksville on Saturday afternoon for a matchup with the Eagles of the University of the Ozarks. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
