#MustangsWin! Echaniz's Brace Leads CBC Past UHSP!

            Creve Coeur, Mo. – Looking to open American Midwest Conference play on a high note, Central Baptist College was at the Creve Coeur Soccer Park today for their AMC opener against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. CBC (4-5, 1-0 AMC) got a goal in each half, beating UHSP (0-8, 0-1 AMC) 2-1.

            Tim Echaniz had a pair of goals for the Mustangs, the first of which was assisted by Hugh McAuley. Edvin Yttergren made his second straight start in goal and got his second win, making a pair of saves. CBC outshot UHSP 19-7 overall and 8-3 on goal

GAME FLOW

            Echaniz broke the deadlock in the fourth minute, when he put McAuley's pass into the back of the net to make it 1-0 early. The Mustangs carried that 1-0 lead into halftime and kept it until the 65^th minute, when Echaniz cashed in on an opportunity that he created to put CBC ahead 2-0. A goal in the 86^th by the Eutectics halved the score, but the Mustangs hung on for their second consecutive victory.

            CBC returns to the pitch at Burns Park on Tuesday for a match against the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
