Four Central Baptist College athletic teams were in action today across various locations in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Here is what happened on this busy day for the CBC Mustangs:
BASEBALL SWEEPS CHAMPION CHRISTIAN
The CBC baseball team opened the 2026 season today at Majestic Park in Hot Springs against the Champion Christian Tigers. CBC swept the doubleheader, winning 9-1 behind home runs from Ryan Dauphinee, Aaron Prince, Jeremy Franco and Preston White in game one before taking game two 2-1 behind outstanding pitching from Dylan Parton, Jake Belton, Trey Watson and Jamin Smith. The Mustangs play at the Cajun Collision in Sterlington, La., this weekend.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS THE CENTURY MARK TO BEAT MISSION
The Lady Mustangs made history tonight, beating Mission 104-77. Not only did CBC eclipse the century mark for the first time in over six years, they did for just the 10th time in program history and the fourth time against Mission in 22 meetings. CBC also tied for their highest scoring quarter ever with 35 points in the fourth, which was also accomplished six years ago. Six players finished in double figures scoring, led by another double-double from Raigan Head who had 25 points and 11 rebounds. Lexi Duck had 16 points, Destry Steele and Cammi Christie both added 15 off the bench while Anslee Ballew had 11 and Addison Hudspeth had 10. CBC and Hannibal-LaGrange get together in Reddin on Thursday night.
WRESTLING COMPETES IN FINAL DUAL OF THE SEASON
The Mat Mustangs were in Bartlesville, Okla., for a dual against Oklahoma Wesleyan. Maddox Atkins posted the lone win, by forfeit, at 141 pounds. CBC heads to Marshall, Mo., this weekend for the Missouri Valley Open, their final tournament of the regular season.
MEN'S BASKETBALL AVENGES EARLIER LOSS TO MISSION
Derek Magwood had 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead CBC men's basketball past Mission tonight 88-83. Tyler Johnson also had 21 and 14 while MacArthur Reed, Jr., and Dalton Alexander III both chipped in with 15 points each. CBC took the lead for the final time with 2:59 left in the first half and set sail, beating Mission for the 19th time in 23 meetings while posting their fourth win at Reddin Fieldhouse this season. The Mustangs look to avenge another loss when Hannibal-LaGrange comes into town on Thursday night.
