North Little Rock, Ark. – Looking for another American Midwest Conference series win, Central Baptist College baseball hosted Crowley's Ridge College today in the final two games of the series at DeSalvo Memorial Stadium. CBC (15-12, 12-4 AMC) took care of business, beating CRC (4-22, 4-12 AMC) 6-2 and 6-0 to win three out of four games in the series.
GAME THREE – CBC 6, CRC 2
The Pioneers scored the first couple of runs with one in each of the first two innings. Garrett Fitts would cut the deficit in half with a single in the second to make it 2-1 before Brayden Mayencourt rapped a bases clearing double to left field to give CBC a 4-2 lead in the third. George Astacio tacked on another run with a single in the fourth and the final run scored on an error in the fifth. Dylan Parton earned his third win of the season, throwing a complete game and allowing just four hits and two unearned runs with seven strikeouts.
GAME FOUR – CBC 6, CRC 0
Cameron Harden opened the scoring in game two with an RBI single in the second, followed immediately by a sac fly by Josh Lumsden to make it 2-0 after two. Astacio added a sac fly of his own in the fifth to stretch the lead to 3-0 before Lumsden clubbed his second home run of the season, a three-run blast in the sixth to wrap up the scoring for the Mustangs. Ryan Meyer earned his third win with a complete-game three hitter while striking out six.
UP NEXT
CBC heads to St. Louis on Friday for the first two games of a four-game set with the Harris-Stowe State Hornets. First Pitch from Stars Park is scheduled for noon.
