Bio

Ryan Guyton begins his first season as the head coach of the CBC Baseball program in 2027 after being named head coach on May 14, 2026. He has spent the previous six seasons as the head assistant coach for former head coach Dr. Aaron Brister.

"First and foremost, I want to thank the Lord for guiding my steps throughout this journey and for placing people in my life who have helped me grow closer to Him. Looking back, I can clearly see how God has orchestrated every step of my life for His glory. I want to thank my wife, Bethany, for standing beside me. Throughout this journey, we have continued to seek the Lord in prayer and trust His plan for our lives. I want to thank my parents (CBC VP for Advancement) Duffy and Dawn Guyton, for raising me in a home that pointed me toward the Lord from a young age. I would not be where I am today without your love. I also want to thank Dr. Brister for believing in me and giving me the opportunity not only to play college baseball, but also to spend the past six years coaching alongside him. Coach Brister has stood firm on his standard of building a tradition and leaving a legacy of a Christ-centered winning program, and a legacy of transforming lives for the Kingdom will be a standard that this program will continue to strive for. I'm thankful to every coach, mentor, teammate and friend who has invested in my life over the years. Opportunities like this are only possible because of the people God places around us. I'm excited for what's ahead and look forward to continuing the tradition that has already been built at CBC. Christ Be Magnified! Go Mustangs!"

As an assistant, Guyton was the primary baserunning coach and helped CBC set a program record for steals in 2022 with 190. He helped Jay French earn AMC Player of the Year honors in 2022 and helped the Mustangs earn their second AMC Tournament championship in 2026.

Guyton, a 2020 graduate of CBC, played four years of baseball at CBC, including three years on the varsity team from 2017-19. He played a variety of different positions in his career, including third base, second base and left field. In 121 career games, he batted .305 with 72 runs scored, 15 doubles, four home runs, 36 RBIs, 30 walks and six steals. His specialty, however, was getting on base, as he had a career .420 on-base percentage which included 14 times being hit by a pitch as a senior.

In 2019, Guyton had his best season, batting .336 with 30 runs scored, eight doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs. The season also included a five-hit game against Lindenwood-Belleville in the American Midwest Conference tournament, making him one of only 11 players in program history to record at least five hits in a game.

In 2018, Guyton earned the Champion of Character award and became a regular starter in the lineup toward the end of the season, playing in 40 games and batting .296 with 25 runs scored, five doubles, two home runs and 12 RBIs. A memorable moment for Guyton that season was hitting his first career home run, which was a walk-off grand slam against Blue Mountain in the third game of the home opening series that season.

In 2017, Guyton was primarily used as a runner, playing in 30 games, scoring 17 runs and drawing 12 walks.

Guyton is a member of Central Baptist Church in Conway and is married to Bethany, who graduated from Arkansas Tech.
