Conway, Ark. – Playing their fourth game against a team that went to the NAIA National tournament last season, #10 Central Baptist College men's basketball hosted the Panthers of Philander Smith University this afternoon at Reddin Fieldhouse. #10 CBC (8-2) led by eight at halftime, but couldn't shut down a potent PSU (7-3) attack and fell 91-84.
Three Mustangs finished in double figures scoring, led by Jonas Carlisle with 19 points. Wade Williams had 18 and Brian Alexander contributed 14 off the bench. A tale of two halves went the way of PSU in the second half as the Mustangs were outscored 48-33 in the second half and shot 32 percent from the field after halftime compared to 53 percent for the Panthers.
#10 CBC returns to American Midwest Conference play next Saturday when they take on Missouri Baptist. Tipoff from the Petty Student Resources Center in St. Louis is scheduled for 3 p.m.
