#MustangsWin! #15 CBC Survives And Advances To AMC Semifinals For Eighth Straight Season!

            Conway, Ark. – Opening play in the American Midwest Conference Tournament Presented by Tandem HR at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse tonight, #15 Central Baptist College men's basketball, the #2 seed in the tournament, hosted the #7 seed Mission University Patriots in the American Midwest Conference quarterfinals. #15 CBC (25-4) never trailed, knocking Mission (8-18) out of the tournament by a score of 83-76 to advance to the semifinals for the eighth season in a row.

            Three Mustangs finished in double figures scoring, led by 25 from AMC first team selection Sage Borbon. AMC Defensive Player of the Year, first team selection and all-defensive team selection Jonas Carlisle added 14 while AMC Sixth Man of the Year Brian Alexander chipped in with 12 off the bench. Alexander, Carlisle, second team selection Wade Williams and honorable mention selection Gabe Johnson all tied for the lead with seven rebounds apiece while all-defensive team selection Devin Foster had four blocked shots.

            CBC capitalized on defense, holding Mission to 35 percent shooting from the field and 4-of-23 from beyond the arc. CBC held a 40-28 lead at halftime and never allowed Mission to get closer than six at any point in the second half.

            #15 CBC hosts the Columbia Cougars for the second time in 10 days on Saturday in the AMC Semifinals. Tipoff from Reddin Fieldhouse is slated for 3 p.m.
