Conway, Ark. – Looking to win two-in-a-row at home for the first time this season, Central Baptist College men's basketball hosted the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans in an American Midwest Conference matchup inside A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (9-14, 6-5 AMC) trailed by two at halftime and couldn't get past HLGU (14-7, 8-2 AMC), falling 63-57.
Tyler Johnson led the way with 17 points while MacArthur Reed, Jr., was the only other Mustang in double figures with 11. The game was ultimately decided at the free throw line, where HLGU went 18-20 and CBC was 8-13. The Mustangs tied the game at 27 early in the second half but weren't able to get closer than 55-54 the rest of game as HLGU went 8-8 at the line over the final 2:04 to seal the win.
CBC will take a week off before returning home for Senior Night next Thursday night against Crowley's Ridge. The festivities will take place between games and the game will tip off following the conclusion of Senior Night.
