Mustangs Swept By #22 TAMUT

            Conway, Ark. – Playing at City of Colleges Park for the first time this season, Central Baptist College softball hosted the #22 Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles in a doubleheader. CBC (3-11) got swept 14-4 and 11-3 by TAMUT (5-3).

GAME ONE - #22 TAMUT 14, CBC 4 (FIVE INNINGS)

            TAMUT hit five home runs and scored four runs in the first inning, two in the second, two in the third and three each in the fourth and fifth innings. CBC scored a run in the first on Taviah Bradley's first career home run and made the score 6-3 in the second on a single by Sydney Weiser and a groundout by Taylyn Shuffield. Melanie Phillips' second home run of the season made the score 8-4 at the time.

GAME TWO - #22 TAMUT 11, CBC 3 (FIVE INNINGS)

            TAMUT scored three in the first, one in the second and seven in the fourth behind four more home runs. The Mustangs scored their first run in the first when Taviah Bradley stole home on an attempted double steal to make it 3-1 at the time. Shuffield singled home the second run in the second followed by a single by Bradley to make it 4-3 after two.

UP NEXT

            The Mustangs are off until the 27th when they host Dallas Christian for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
