Gulf Shores, Ala. – After starting the Gulf Coast Invitational 1-1, Central Baptist College softball played two more games on the final morning of play against William Woods and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. CBC (9-13) split again, run-ruling WWU (5-8) 10-2 before losing 13-12 to ABAC (8-10) in eight innings.

GAME THREE – CBC 10, WWU 2 (FIVE INNINGS)

CBC put the game away in the second inning with six runs on an error, a grand slam by Taviah Bradley and a single by Eden East. Woods scored both their runs in the third before CBC put the run rule into effect in the fourth. East drove in another run with a double to make it 7-2 followed by a Kinley Johnson single, a groundout by Kori Truelove and a double by Melanie Phillips. Ryleigh Keele earned her second win of the weekend, allowing four hits and two runs with four Ks.

GAME FOUR – ABAC 13, CBC 12 (EIGHT INNINGS)

The Mustangs put up five runs in the second inning on doubles by Elizabeth Stoufer, Sydney Weiser and Taylyn Shuffield and a two-run triple by Bradley. ABAC then scored four in the bottom half to make it 5-4 after two innings. CBC added four more runs in the fourth on a single by Truelove, a single by Karlee Broadway (one of a record tying five hits on the day), an error and a single by Stoufer. An ABAC home run in the bottom half made it 9-6 after four. A single by Weiser and a sac fly by Bradley in the sixth made it 11-6 before ABAC scored one in the sixth and three in the seventh to send the game into extras. Another Weiser single put CBC ahead 12-11 in the eighth, but the Fillies plated two in the bottom half to hand CBC the loss.
