Conway, Ark. – Playing at home on a Friday for the final time this season, Central Baptist College softball hosted the Stephens Stars this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference doubleheader at City of Colleges Park. CBC (23-15, 8-2 AMC) split with SC (9-25, 4-8 AMC), winning game one 7-0 before falling 1-0 in game two.

GAME ONE – CBC 7, STEPHENS 0

CBC wasted no time scoring in game one, plating five runs on a two-run double by Kori Truelove, a two-run home run by Melanie Phillips and a single by Taylyn Shuffield. The score remained 5-0 until the fourth when Elizabeth Stoufer singled home a run to make it 6-0, and Phillips' second home run brought home the final run. Ryleigh Keele and Kayla O'Kelley combined for a three-hit shutout with Keele going five and allowing two hits while striking out three. O'Kelley allowed a hit in the final two innings.

GAME TWO – STEPHENS 1, CBC 0

The lone run came in the first inning and CBC failed to get more than one hit in any inning, despite getting runners to third base twice. Lauren Woodard started and went six innings, allowing the only run on seven hits with two Ks. Isabella Sawyers threw a perfect seventh.
