Mustangs Lose To Tigers

            Arkadelphia, Ark. – Playing a Division II opponent for the first time this season, Central Baptist College softball took on the Ouachita Baptist Tigers tonight at Langston Field. CBC (26-20) lost both ends of the doubleheader, falling to OBU (18-27) 13-3 and 10-6.

GAME ONE – OBU 13, CBC 3 (FIVE INNINGS)

            OBU scored one in the first, 11 in the second and one in the fourth. CBC's first two runs came in the fourth inning on a ground out by Eden East and a single by Melanie Phillips. The final run came in the fifth inning on a double play.

GAME TWO – OBU 10, CBC 6

            OBU scored two in the first inning and three in the second before the Mustangs tied the game at five in the third on a Taylyn Shuffield single, an error and the first home run of the season for Elizabeth Stoufer, a three-run shot to left center. OBU retook the lead with single runs in the third and fourth innings to make it 7-5 before Kinley Johnson's solo shot in the fifth, her sixth of the season, made it 7-6. The Tigers would add three in the fifth and one in the sixth.

            CBC wraps up the regular season on Thursday when they host American Midwest Conference rival Mission in a doubleheader. First pitch from City of Colleges Park is scheduled for 1 p.m.
