Conway, Ark. – Hosting an American Midwest Conference opponent for the first time this season, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University tonight inside A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (3-3, 0-3 AMC) led at halftime but struggled shooting in the second half, dropping a 68-54 decision to MBU (5-2, 3-0 AMC).

GAME FLOW

MBU scored the first back of the game 43 seconds into the contest and a pair of Diana Rivera free throws with 8:09 left in the first quarter made it 2-2. Emma Bates hit a three on the ensuing CBC possession following an MBU to give CBC a 5-2 lead and the Lady Mustangs would never relinquish that lead, finishing the quarter on a 14-8 run to lead 19-10 after one. CBC was able to keep the lead at eight or more for most of the second quarter, leading by as many as 13 (32-19) at one point and CBC carried a 32-26 lead into halftime.

Back-to-back threes from Lydia York pushed the CBC lead back to 12 before MBU outscored CBC 16-0 over the final 6:32 of the third and never trailed again, leading by as many as 15 before bringing the score final.

CBC welcomes the Cougars of Columbia College into A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse for an AMC tilt on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
