Fulton, Mo. – Coming off a big win in their most recent game, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Owls of William Woods this afternoon inside Anderson Arena for an American Midwest Conference contest. CBC (9-12, 4-12) trailed by five at halftime and fell to WWU (6-16, 4-11 AMC) by a 57-55 score.
Caroline Citty led the way for CBC with 13 points while Rhys Anderson chipped in with 12 and Diana Rivera added 11. The game featured 11 ties and nine lead changes and CBC dropped the contest despite being plus seven on the glass.
GAME FLOW – FOURTH QUARTER
CBC entered the fourth quarter down 46-45. With 8:20 left, Rhys Anderson made a free throw to tie the game at 48, but a three-pointer from Woods gave them a 51-48 lead. The Lady Mustangs continued to fight, tying the game at 53 with 2:09 left thanks to a free throw by Rivera. A layup by the Owls with 57 seconds left put CBC down 55-53 and a free throw with 29 seconds left made it 56-53 in favor of Woods. Citty would make two free throws with 20 seconds left and WWU made one of two with six seconds left to make it 57-55. Anderson had a shot at three to win the game, but missed and CBC earned the split with WWU.
