#MustangsWin! Head Makes History To Lead CBC Past Champion Christian

            Hot Springs, Ark. – Raigan Head made history on Saturday afternoon as the Central Baptist College Lady Mustangs basketball team took on the Champion Christian Tigers at the Champion Center. Head scored 32 points and grabbed a program single-game record 20 rebounds to lead CBC (1-1) to a win over CCC (0-1).

            Head split her rebounds evenly, with 10 coming on the offensive end and 10 coming on the defensive end. She breaks the previous record of 18, which had been done twice. Aliya Grotjohn also contributed with 20 points via five three pointers while Addison Hudspeth chipped in with 12. Grotjohn also led the team in assists with five and the Lady Mustangs dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Tigers 51-24, helping CBC to lead by as many as 26 at one point.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • Head's 32 point effort is the fourth-most in a game in program history
  • CBC is now 1-1 against the Tigers all-time
  • CBC also improved to 135-31 when they lead at halftime
  • Head also made 12 field goals, tying her for the third most in a single contest
  • 32 points is the most in a game since Alexis Augustus scored 34 against Columbia on Feb. 23, 2022
  • Head Coach Kory Heffentrager picked up her first win at the helm

            CBC heads to Monroe, La., on Monday for an exhibition contest against NCAA Division I Louisiana Monroe. Tipoff from Fant-Ewing Coliseum is scheduled for 5 p.m. and the game can be seen on ESPN+.
