St. Louis, Mo. – Putting an end to their five game road trip today, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy inside UHSP gymnasium. CBC (8-9, 6-7 American Midwest Conference) led at halftime, but got outscored 50-33 in the second half by UHSP (4-15, 4-9 AMC) to fall 82-69.
Aliya Grotjohn led the Lady Mustangs in scoring with 21 points on five-of-nine from three and she was joined in double figures by Tamara Christmas with 13 while Addison Hudspeth and Raigan Head both had 12 each. Head also posted her sixth double-double of the season, grabbing 10 rebounds.
CBC led 36-32 at halftime and held the lead early in the third quarter until an 8-0 run for UHSP to start the third quarter to put the deficit at 40-36. The Mustangs fought back and eventually tied the game at 52 with 2:04 left in the third before UHSP ended the quarter on a 6-0 run to lead after three. CBC never got closer than three the rest of the contest.
CBC returns home on Thursday night when they host Cottey. Tipoff from Reddin Fieldhouse is slated for 5:30 p.m.
