Women's Basketball Season Ends In AMC Quarterfinals

            Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Playing in the American Midwest Conference Tournament Presented by Tandem HR for the first time in two seasons, #8 seed Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the #1 seed Eagles of Williams Baptist University in the quarterfinal round at the Southerland Mabee Center. CBC (10-17) saw their season come to an end at the hands of WBU (26-3) losing by a score of 117-58.

            Lydia York led the way in scoring with 15 points in her final game as a Mustang. AMC third team selection Raigan Head also finished in double figures scoring with 10 points and AMC all-freshman team selection Addison Hudspeth also had 10. Fellow AMC All-Freshman team selection Riley Whittington finished with six points.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • CBC set a pair of new program records with 214 made three-point field goals and a 74.8 percent free throw percentage. The three-pointers record was previously 200 in 2019-20 while the previous percentage record was 74 percent sent last year.
  • The Lady Mustangs finished the season with 612 made field goals, ninth most in a season in program history and a field goal percentage of 36.5, 10th best in a season
  • CBC grabbed 1,058 rebounds this season, ninth most in a season and averaged 39.2 per game, seventh most in a season
  • The Lady Mustangs handed out 370 assists, fourth most in a season while averaging 13.7 per game, third highest in a season
  • CBC finished with 1,768 points, ninth most in a season and averaged 65.5 points per game, sixth highest in a season
  • Individually, Raigan Head finished with the third most points in a season with 411, tied for the third highest points per game at 15.2, eighth most made field goals with 130, the most minutes played ever in a season with 964, second most free throws made in a season with 105, tied for the fourth-highest free throw percentage in a season at 81.4, third most rebounds in a season with 260, third highest rebounds per game with 9.6, while recording the second most double-doubles in a season with nine
  • Other individuals that made top-10 lists in a single season include Riley Whittington with the third most minutes played (960), and tied for the seventh most assists (82), Aliya Grotjohn with the sixth most minutes played (883), tied for the eighth most threes made (59), fourth highest three point percentage (41.9), Addison Hudspeth with the ninth most minutes played (824), and Rhys Anderson with the sixth most assists in a season (85)
