Conway, Ark. – Playing at home for the first time in the month of October, Central Baptist College volleyball hosted the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University tonight at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (4-14) fought hard but fell in straight sets to SAU (6-12) by scores of 17-25, 21-25 and 26-28.
Avary Smith had 12 kills and hit .194 while the Mustangs had 35 kills and hit .117 as a team, posting a season-high 10 total blocks as well, including four apiece from Aubree Ruggles and Rylie Ciremele. Other double-figure performers included Madeline Freeman with 18 assists, Adalyn Dura with 11 assists and Kate Scroggins with a career-high 27 digs.
CBC is off for a week before returning to the court to take on Blue Mountain Christian. First serve from Olney-Margoles Arena in Memphis, Tenn., is scheduled for 6 p.m.
