#MustangsWin! CBC Sweeps WBU For Fourth AMC Win!

            Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Returning to American Midwest Conference play, Central Baptist College volleyball took on the Eagles of Williams Baptist University tonight at the Southerland Mabee Center. CBC (5-15, 4-3 AMC swept WBU (1-22, 0-12 AMC) by scores of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-9.

            Lakyn Johnson led the way in kills with 10 while Adalyn Dura had 13 assists, Madeline Freeman had 12 assists and Ava White led with 11 digs while Kate Scroggins had 10. CBC had 41 kills and hit .261 while also registering eight service aces.

GAME FLOW

            WBU won the first two points of the match before the Mustangs rattled off four straight points to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Set two started out in a similar fashion, with WBU winning the first four points before the Mustangs ran off six straight to lead 6-4. The teams would stay close and, with the score tied at 19, the Mustangs ran off six straight points to win the set and setup the sweep. CBC won six of the first eight points and cruised from their to finish their third sweep of the season.

UP NEXT

            The Mustangs host an AMC tri-match on Saturday. The Mustangs will host Stephens first at 12 p.m. with Stephens and Crowley's Ridge playing following that match and CBC playing CRC in the final match. All three matches will be streamed on WatchAMC.com
