Mustangs Split Series With Crusaders

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

North Little Rock, Ark. – Looking for a series sweep, Central Baptist College baseball hosted the Dallas Christian Crusaders today and DeSalvo Memorial Stadium. CBC (9-9) lost both games today to DCC (6-8) 8-5 and 6-2.

GAME ONE – DCC 8, CBC 5

The Crusaders took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first before the Mustangs responded in the bottom half as Carter Harris cleared the bases with his first career triple to give CBC a 3-2 lead. DCC would retake the lead with five runs in the second inning. Cesar Franco's sac fly in the bottom half make it 7-4 before the Crusaders scored their final run on a passed ball in the sixth. A Brayden Mayencourt double in the seventh brought home the final run for CBC. Jaxon Kirkhuff did not factor in the decision, but threw five relief innings and allowed one unearned run on three hits with four strikeouts.

GAME TWO – DCC 6, CBC 2

DCC scored five in the first and one in the third for all of their runs. CBC's lone runs came on the first career home run for Cody Kennon, a two-run shot in the bottom of the third. Ethan Reisdorfer threw three hitless relief innings, striking out three and walking one.
