#MustangsWin! Baseball Completes Series Sweep of Calvary!

North Little Rock, Ark. – Looking to secure their first four-game series sweep of the season, Central Baptist College baseball hosted Calvary University today in the final two games of the series at DeSalvo Memorial Field. CBC (13-10) completed the sweep, beating CU (0-10) 11-8 and 16-2, outscoring the Warriors 47-16 in the sweep.
GAME ONE – CBC 11, CALVARY 8
Calvary used small ball to take a 1-0 lead in the second inning before CBC tied the game on an error in the bottom half. Preston White's second home run of the series and third of the season made it 2-1 in third before Calvary jumped on CBC for seven runs in the fourth to make it 8-2. An Aaron Prince sac fly made it 8-3 after four and the Mustangs began the come back in the fifth. Brayden Mayencourt doubled home a run to make it 8-4 and Ryan Dauphinee followed with a two-run home run, his third of the season to make it 8-6. A bases loaded walk to Prince scored the final run of the inning and the deficit was one after five. A triple by George Astacio tied the game at eight in the sixth inning and CBC retook the lead on a Mayencourt single that chased Astacio home. The Mustangs tacked on a pair of insurance runs with a bases loaded walk issued to Garrett Fitts and a sac fly by Jeremy Franco. Eric de Jesus picked up his second win of the season in relief, striking out two and allowing just two hits in three innings of work.
GAME TWO – CBC 16, CALVARY 2
The Mustangs jumped on the Warriors early in game two, sending 16 men to the plate and scoring 13 runs to lead 13-0 after one. The first run scored on a passed ball, followed by a single by Mayencourt, a wild pitch, a bases loaded hit by pitch to Danilo Taborda, a bases clearing double by Prince, an error, a single by Astacio, another Mayencourt double, a two-run triple by Cody Kennon and a ground out by Fitts. Calvary made it 13-1 in the second and CBC tacked on the final three runs in the fourth on a two-run double by Cade Collins and a sac fly by Devin Miller. Calvary scored the final run of the game in the fifth. Ethan Reisdorfer got the win, allowing two runs on two hits with three walks and four Ks. David Platt pitched a scoreless fifth around a pair of walks and Jordan Tharp pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a hit while striking out two.

CBC plays their final non-conference doubleheader for the start of conference play when they host Champion Christian on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
