Conway, Ark. – Playing a home game for the final time this season, Central Baptist College baseball hosted the #7 Pilots of LSU-Shreveport this afternoon at Bear Stadium. CBC (29-20) fell to LSU-S (36-12) by a score of 25-8.
Shreveport scored four in the first inning, one in the third, four in the fifth, four in the sixth, four in the eighth and eight in the ninth. CBC's runs came via an Aaron Prince double in the second, a George Astacio single and a two-run single by Jaxon Kirkhuff in the third, a Garrett Fitts sac fly in the fourth (which tied the game at five), a Cesar Franco single in the fifth, a Cameron Harden double in the eighth and a Fitts single in the eighth.
CBC will be the three-seed in next week's American Midwest Conference tournament at US Ballpark in Ozark, Mo. CBC's first game will be against the two-seed, Mission, with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday.
