Champions! CBC Wins Second AMC Baseball Title!

Ozark, Mo. – Competing for the third time in the American Midwest Conference Championship, Central Baptist College Baseball sought their first AMC tournament title since 2016 against the Williams Baptist Eagles. CBC (34-18) completed the run of three wins in three days, beating WBU (30-19) 12-6 to earn their second AMC tournament championship!
WBU got on the board first, pushing a run across in the top of the first inning to lead 1-0. Brayden Mayencourt put the Mustangs ahead in the bottom of the first with a 2-run single to give CBC a 2-1 lead. A Jaxon Kirkhuff single in the third made the score 3-1 before WBU cut the lead to 3-2 in the fourth. A Preston White sac fly in the fourth made it 4-2 and a Ryan Dauphinee groundout in the sixth stretched the lead to 5-2. The Mustang offense would blow the game open in the seventh, plating seven runs courtesy of a back-to-back singles by Aaron Prince and Josh Lumsden, back-to-back bases loaded walks to Dauphinee and Mayencourt, a wild pitch and a two-run single by George Astacio to lead 12-2 after seven innings. The Eagles would plate three in the eighth inning and one in the ninth before Cesar Franco’s diving catch to end the game triggered a wild celebration in the infield. Aiden Jones picked up his seventh win of the season, allowing 10 hits and five runs in seven-and-two-thirds innings with a strikeout. Ryan Meyer came in got the final out of the eighth and allowed a run in the ninth before Eric de Jesus shut the door, striking out one around two hits.
