Conway, Ark. – Looking to bounce back after a tough loss, Central Baptist College men's basketball hosted the Dallas Christian Crusaders this afternoon at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (3-5) led by as many as 23, and swept DCC (4-6) on the season, winning 87-73.
Jason Hunt led the way again for CBC, scoring a game high 30 points. MacArthur Reed, Jr., chipped in with 16 points, Dalton Alexander III had 15 and Jadavien Banks had 11 off the bench. CBC played outstanding defense, holding the Crusaders to 33 percent shooting from the field.
GAME FLOW
Dallas Christian scored the first basket of the contest 18 seconds in before Hunt tied the game with a three 19 seconds later. The teams would either trade the lead or be tied until the 7:07 mark when Reed cashed in on a three to make it 20-17. The Mustangs would take a 36-25 lead into halftime and never let the Crusaders get inside that number for the rest of the game.
MUSTANG NOTES
- This is the first season sweep for CBC over Dallas Christian and their second win in five meetings with the Crusaders
- CBC won for the first time this season at home
- CBC is now 2-1 when leading at halftime this season
- Hunt tied Ryan Barnes with four 30-point games in a season
- Hunt also grabbed 13 rebounds for his first double-double in a Mustangs uniform
