Mustangs Swept by Cougars

Columbia, Mo. – Looking to carry some momentum from their win on Tuesday, Central Baptist College softball took on the first place in the American Midwest Conference Columbia Cougars this afternoon at the Antimi Softball Complex. CBC (21-19, 10-4 AMC) was swept in the doubleheader by CC (22-8, 13-1 AMC) losing game one 7-1 before falling in a 10-1 run rule in game two.
GAME ONE – COLUMBIA 7, CBC 1
Columbia scored one in the third, four in the fourth and two in the sixth before CBC got on the board in the seventh thanks to an RBI single from Baylie Ainsworth. Ainsworth, Taviah Bradley, Kinley Johnson and Elizabeth Stoufer were the only Mustangs with hits while Stoufer had a multi-hit game.
GAME TWO – COLUMBIA 10, CBC 1 (FIVE INNINGS)
The Cougars scored six in the first and four in the fourth to round out their scoring. CBC's lone RBI came on a groundout by Taylyn Shuffield in the fifth. Madalyn Tubbs, Bradley, Johnson, Abi West and Sydney Weiser all recorded hits for CBC.
UP NEXT
The Mustangs end their eight-game Missouri road trip tomorrow with a doubleheader at Stephens. First pitch from American Legion Field is scheduled for noon.
